AsiaPalm seeks a diligent Market Research Analyst specialized in palm oil products (CPO & PFAD) to perform end-to-end market analyses, supplier sourcing, and production forecasting across Indonesia’s core producing regions. Frequent field trips and English as the daily working language are required.

You will conduct primary field research and stakeholder interviews, deliver data-driven market insights, and support procurement, trading and strategic decisions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Market Research Analyst specialized in palm oil products (CPO & PFAD). The role covers end-to-end market analysis, supplier sourcing, and short-to-long term production forecasting focusing on Indonesian core producing regions. You will conduct primary field research and stakeholder interviews, deliver data-driven market insights and production forecasts, and support the company’s procurement, trading and strategic business decisions. Frequent field trips across production islands are required, and English will serve as our daily working language.

Key Responsibilities

Market Research & Supplier Sourcing

Conduct ongoing market research on CPO and PFAD supply, demand and price trends. Identify, evaluate and verify qualified suppliers in Indonesia, build and maintain supplier databases, and assess supplier production capacity, product quality and delivery stability to support procurement and business collaboration.

Stakeholder Interview & Short-Term Production Forecasting

Complete 10-15 weekly interviews with smallholder farmers, plantation companies, processors and industry institutions. Gather first‑hand operational and seasonal production data to generate accurate monthly production forecasts and track real‑time supply‑side changes.

On-Site Crop Survey & Medium-Term Forecasting

Perform regular field crop assessments in major Indonesian palm oil areas. Monitor crop growth, harvesting progress, weather conditions and local policy updates. Analyze MoM and YoY production changes to deliver reliable medium‑term output forecasts and key supply drivers.

Historical Data Compilation & Long-Term Analysis

Collect, organize and archive historical palm oil data, including annual output, plantation area, yield performance, seasonal patterns and supply chain records, to support long‑term production trend analysis.

Undertake regular cross-island business trips in Indonesia for field surveys, supplier visits and crop verification. Prepare weekly/monthly market reviews and production forecast reports, and deliver analytical insights to support internal decision‑making.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or above in Economics, Agriculture or related fields; 2-3 years of relevant working experience in market research, commodity analysis or supply chain sourcing.

Language Skill: Fluent in written and spoken English, capable of daily business communication, and professional report writing in English.

Professional Skill: Familiar with the CPO & PFAD industry chain; competent in field investigation, primary data collection, data sorting and trend forecasting.

Work Adaptability: Available for frequent cross-island field trips in Indonesia and Malaysia, adaptable to overseas fieldwork schedules.

Personal Traits: Diligent, reliable and down-to-earth with strong teamwork spirit, independent problem-solving ability and rigorous work attitude; sensitive to market changes and capable of delivering accurate analysis independently.

Preferred Qualifications

Working experience in palm oil research, agricultural commodity analysis or bulk commodity procurement is highly preferred.

Existing industry connections with Indonesian and Malaysian palm oil plantations, processors and smallholder groups.

Familiar with palm oil seasonal cycles, regional industry policies and CPO/PFAD trade rules.
