Job summary

Adecco Portugal is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our software engineering teams responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining client digital platforms and technology solutions.

You will oversee end-to-end development, architecture, and platform performance while collaborating with Product and Business stakeholders to translate needs into scalable technical solutions across e-commerce, B2B/B2C, and omnichannel offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in software engineering or application development, with at least 3 years in an Engineering Manager/Technical Lead role.
• Proven experience leading software engineering teams (Backend and Frontend).
• Strong background in software development, architecture, and application engineering.
• Hands-on with Java, Golang, Python, Node.js, .NET, React or similar tech.
• Familiar with RESTful APIs, microservices, databases, and system integration.
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiar with DevOps, CI/CD, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor software engineering teams across Backend, Frontend, and other functions.
• Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, methodologies, and guidelines.
• Drive team productivity and continuous capability development.
• Oversee end-to-end software development lifecycle from design to maintenance.
• Ensure timely delivery of scalable, secure, high-quality software solutions.
• Collaborate with Product and Business teams to translate requirements into technical specs.
• Define and maintain software architecture and technology roadmaps.
• Ensure applications are scalable, maintainable, and integrable with enterprise systems.
• Drive system integration across digital platforms and third-party applications.
• Improve engineering processes, technology capabilities, and platform performance.
