PT Sheel Oil Indonesia in Sei Mangkei, Simalungun, Sumatera Utara seeks an experienced Tank Farm Assistant Manager to lead daily operations at our storage and distribution facility, with emphasis on safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance.

You will supervise unloading, storage and loading of oils, monitor inventories, maintain records, and manage staff while liaising with transporters, customers and authorities.

Formación

• 5+ years of tank farm or oils storage experience.
• Experience supervising a team in logistics or tank farm operations.
• Knowledge of safety regulations governing oils storage and handling.
• Strong inventory control and stock procedures.
• Proficiency in SAP or similar inventory/ops software.
• Fluent Indonesian and English (written and spoken).

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tank Farm Assistant Manager to join PT Sheel Oil Indonesia in a full-time capacity at our facility in KEK Sei Mangkei, Simalungun, Sumatera Utara. This is a strategic position within our oil loading/unloading, storage and distribution operations, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant management of our tank farm facilities. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, maintaining safety standards and supporting the Commercial Manager in achieving operational excellence. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our logistics and storage operations whilst working within a dynamic and professional team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily tank farm operations, including unloading, transferring, storage and loading of oils.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate records of all tank farm stock and transactions.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations applicable to storage and handling of materials.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks of tanks, pipelines, pumps and related equipment to ensure operational integrity.
• Manage staff scheduling, training and performance within the tank farm facility.
• Respond to and manage emergency situations, including spills or equipment failures, in accordance with established protocols.
• Liaise with external stakeholders including transporters, customers and regulatory authorities.
• Support the Commercial Manager in developing and implementing operational procedures and best practices.
• Prepare reports on operational metrics, safety incidents and maintenance activities.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all tank farm activities and regulatory compliance measures.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience in tank farm operations, oils storage or similar distribution environments.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role within logistics or tank farm facilities.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols and regulations governing the storage and handling of oils materials.
• Excellent understanding of inventory management systems and stock control procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Proficiency in SAP or relevant computer systems and software for inventory and operations management.
• Excellent communication skills in Indonesian and English, both written and verbal.
