About the role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Operations Manager to support the day-to-day management of our tank farm operations. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable receipt, storage, and dispatch of raw materials and finished products while maintaining compliance with health, safety, environmental, and operational standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in leading operational teams, optimizing processes, and supporting business objectives through continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the scheduling of raw material and product receipts, storage activities, and dispatch operations within the tank farm.
Ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with company policies and applicable Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), and regulatory requirements.
Implement, monitor, and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs for tank farm equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.
Monitor operational performance, identify process bottlenecks, and recommend improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Collaborate closely with internal teams to support production, logistics, maintenance, and business objectives.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve operational issues and ensure service excellence.
Lead, coach, and develop operators and technicians to maintain high standards of safety, productivity, and operational discipline.
Support emergency response activities and ensure operational readiness of facilities and equipment.
Prepare operational reports and analyze performance metrics to support management decision-making.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in tank farm, terminal, storage, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is highly preferred.
Experience managing bulk liquid storage operations and related equipment is an advantage.
Experience in weighbridge operations and management, including coordination of inbound and outbound truck movements, documentation, and inventory control.
Experience working in a bonded zone (Kawasan Berikat), including understanding of bonded zone regulations, compliance requirements, customs procedures, and related operational processes.
Strong knowledge of tank farm operations, equipment, systems, and operating procedures.
Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
Good knowledge of HSE regulations, risk management, and operational compliance requirements.
Ability to analyze operational data and implement process improvements.
