Job summary

Weconnor seeks a Merchandising Director based in Surabaya to lead a key client merchandising team across categories, aligning market activities with client strategies. You will drive growth, manage vendor relationships, and steer product development and procurement to meet market KPIs.

The role requires 15+ years in merchandising or global sourcing, with at least 10 years in senior management in multinational buying offices or retailers, and strong leadership across multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

Tertiary educated, preferably in business, merchandising, global sourcing or related disciplines.
Minimum 15 years of experience, preferably with 10 years at senior management position in a multinational buying office or retailer.

Responsibilities

Lead in-country client team to ensure efficiency in execution of their sourcing strategy and KPI’s.
Drive business growth by aligning client strategies with market activities to achieve client growth potential.
Support supplier and product development and build resources to support growth.
Lead client initiatives to meet targets and timelines.
Communicate market influences and actions to clients; resolve issues.
Direct & lead reports to meet changing business demands for client satisfaction.
Develop and mentor teams; build bench strength across levels; evaluate performance.
Commit to excellence and high service quality to sustain long-term growth.
Align with MD to plan annual shipment and budget, and manage manpower.
