Job summary

Neo Energy Materials in Indonesia is seeking a Strategic & Long-Term Mine Planning Engineer to lead the development of long-term mine plans that drive efficiency and sustainable production. You will prepare LOM, 5Y and 3Y plans, optimize pit designs, and coordinate with operations to minimize ore loss while ensuring HSE and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, civil engineering, geology or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years in mining with exposure to Nickel, Coal, Gold, or Quarry.
• Proficient in Surpac, Leapfrog, ArcMap, AutoCAD, and Whittle.
• Strong understanding of resource/reserve estimation, mine economics, and financial evaluation methods (NPV & IRR).
• Knowledge of Kepmen ESDM No. 1827 and GMP standards.
• Experience in long-term mine planning, data integrity management, and optimization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update the Ultimate Pit Limit (UPL) and Pit Phasing design to support long-term mine development.
• Prepare Life of Mine (LOM), 5-Year, and 3-Year Mine Plans, and translate them into annual production targets.
• Develop annual production plans, including ore/coal production, overburden removal, and fleet requirements.
• Determine long-term strategic locations for waste dumps, tailing dams, haul roads, and processing facilities.
• Conduct mine economic evaluations, including sensitivity analysis on commodity prices and operational costs.
• Collaborate closely with site operations to optimize mining activities, minimize ore loss, and reduce dilution.
• Prepare technical documents for corporate requirements and government compliance, including RKAB, Feasibility Studies (FS), and other regulatory submissions.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate the Mine Planning team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
• Prepare periodic reports on mining progress, resource utilization, reserve reconciliation, and production performance.
• Ensure all mining activities comply with applicable HSE standards, SOPs, and government regulations.
