Job summary

Mercure Jakarta Gatot Subroto is seeking a hardworking Steward Attendant to join our Stewarding team. You will maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and back-of-house areas, ensure equipment and service items are cleaned and sanitized, and support daily operations of the Food & Beverage department.

The role requires physical fitness, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education or equivalent.
• Experience as Steward, Kitchen Helper, Dishwasher, or similar position preferred.
• Good understanding of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Physically fit and able to stand long periods and perform manual work.
• Able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Follow instructions and hotel policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize plates, glasses, cutlery, kitchen utensils and cooking equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen areas and back-of-house facilities.
• Operate dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment safely.
• Store and organize cleaned equipment for use.
• Assist kitchen staff with cleaning and organizing work areas.
• Collect and dispose of waste according to procedures and segregation standards.
• Report damaged equipment or safety hazards to supervisor.
• Follow HACCP and food safety procedures.
• Support Stewarding team during busy periods and events.
