Job summary

Job Description

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable, and detail-oriented Steward Attendant to join our Stewarding team. The role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and back-of-house areas, ensuring all kitchen equipment, utensils, and service items are properly cleaned and sanitized, and supporting the smooth daily operation of the Food & Beverage Department.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize plates, glasses, cutlery, kitchen utensils, and cooking equipment.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen areas, dishwashing areas, storage areas, and other back-of-house facilities.

Operate dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment safely and correctly.

Ensure all cleaned equipment and utensils are properly stored and ready for use.

Assist kitchen staff with cleaning and organizing work areas.

Collect and dispose of waste according to hotel procedures and waste segregation standards.

Maintain proper cleanliness of garbage and waste disposal areas.

Handle cleaning chemicals safely and according to established procedures.

Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are properly stored and maintained.

Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing kitchen and stewarding supplies when required.

Report damaged equipment, maintenance issues, or safety hazards to the Supervisor.

Follow hotel hygiene, sanitation, health, and safety standards.

Follow HACCP and food safety procedures as required.

Support the Stewarding team during busy periods, events, and special functions.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.

Perform other duties assigned by the Steward Supervisor, Chief Steward, or Kitchen Management.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Steward, Kitchen Helper, Dishwasher, or similar position is preferred.

Minimum high school education or equivalent.

Good understanding of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation practices.

Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and perform manual work.

Able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Responsible, hardworking, reliable, and team-oriented.

Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Able to follow instructions and hotel policies and procedures.
