Job summary

Prefect is seeking a staff-level data platform engineer to own and migrate two data stacks, land the migrated stack, and drive it end-to-end with stakeholders across the org. You will shape requirements, set the roadmap, and serve as a public reference implementation of our product.

You’ll report to the Head of Engineering and work daily with Dagster-based platforms, ingestion tooling, and cost-conscious data operations across diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Staff-level data platform experience with architecture across orgs.
• Deep production experience with dbt and a modern cloud warehouse.
• Experience with a modern orchestrator; Dagster a plus.
• Hands-on with managed ingestion and reverse ETL tooling.
• Self-directed and able to turn ambiguous business asks into scoped work.
• Comfortable working in the open on a public codebase.

Responsibilities

• Own the internal data platform end to end: Snowflake architecture, sizing, and cost; dbt transformations; orchestration in Dagster.
