Job summary

Nodewave is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of engineers, shaping the platform's future across frontend, backend, data, and infra. You will own system architecture, drive key technical decisions, design AI and data pipelines, and collaborate with product and design to align scope and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities include leading hiring and mentoring, establishing coding standards, and delivering robust, scalable software with secure multi-tenant data handling.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams and shipping production software end-to-end.
• Building modern, responsive UIs with Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Designing reliable APIs and data layers with Bun, Hono, Prisma, and PostgreSQL.
• Building data pipelines and integrating AI into products, with ETL, warehousing, and LLM tooling.
• Solid on auth, API security, and multi-tenant isolation.
• Comfortable with system design including authorization, concurrency, and race conditions.
• Familiar with CI/CD, cloud deployment, and running things in production.
• Good habits around clean code, modern tooling, and Git workflows.
• Strong communication for mentoring, aligning people, and deciding under ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers through hiring, mentoring, and career support.
• Own the overall system architecture (frontend, backend, database, infra) and keep it scalable and maintainable.
• Make and document key technical decisions across data modeling, API design, authorization, and security.
• Design core platform features like access control (RBAC/ABAC), multi-tenant data isolation, and safe concurrent data handling.
• Build and lead the AI & Big Data layer including data pipelines, warehousing, analytics, and LLM/AI features.
• Drive delivery by breaking down work, setting priorities, and shipping on time.
• Write and review production code across the stack.
• Set engineering standards for clean code, code review, testing, and modern tooling.
• Own CI/CD and deployments including migrations, environments, and rollbacks.
• Work closely with Product, Design, and stakeholders to shape scope and flag risks early.
