Job summary

Prefect is hiring a Developer Relations Engineer to own how developers learn to build with Prefect, Dagster FastMCP and Horizon. You will craft reference implementations, produce technical content, and close DX gaps by being your own first user. The role is remote-first with US time zones and occasional travel for events.

You’ll work with the Chief Growth Officer and represent Prefect in public venues, videos, and community discussions, shaping how the world learns about our agentic platforms.

Qualifications

• 6+ years writing software professionally, strong Python desirable.
• A public body of technical work we can read (repos, posts, docs, talks, or videos).
• Experience with LLMs and agents (MCP servers, tool calling, agent frameworks, retrieval).
• Strong on‑camera presence or potential to develop it.

Responsibilities

• Ship reference implementations developers copy (production auth, gateway configs).
• Teach people about agentic workflows through demos, posts, talks, and video.
• Make video a channel we’re good at (own the on‑camera content).
• Improve DX by being the first user and filing issues/docs PRs.
• Represent us in public (talks, livestreams, podcasts).
• Gather user feedback to inform product improvements.
