Job summary

Prefect is a remote-first company building and operating resilient, Pythonic orchestration platforms. You will own operating expense accounting, monthly accruals, cash feed, and budget vs. actuals with department leads, ensuring timely and accurate reflections of spend as the company scales.

You’ll work with Ramp, Navan, and Stripe, overseeing AP, T&E, and close, while driving automation and process improvements across the finance stack in a fast-growing software startup.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience at a fast-growing software or tech startup.
• Hands-on ownership of AP, corporate card programs, and/or T&E processes.
• Experience with Ramp, Stripe, and Navan.
• Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills, including budget vs. actuals models.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own budget vs. actuals reporting with dept leads.
• Manage the full operating expense cycle including AP, T&E, and card programs.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with federal and state tax filing requirements and 1099s.
• Partner with department heads to improve budget tracking and forecasting.
• Identify and drive automation across AP, T&E, and close using Ramp, Navan, and Rillet.
• Assist with ad hoc system automations and process improvements.
