Job summary

Masonry. Restaurant Canggu in Bali seeks an experienced Sous Chef to join our team on a contract basis.

You will be the right hand to our Head Chef, lead kitchen staff, and uphold the highest standards of culinary excellence in every dish. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years in a senior kitchen role, strong leadership, food safety knowledge, inventory control, and the ability to work under pressure in a high-end hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or senior kitchen role in hospitality
• Advanced culinary skills across food preparation and cooking techniques
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and health regulations
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities with capacity to motivate staff
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
• Experience in inventory management, stock control and cost management
• Strong communication skills and collaboration with Head Chef, management and front-of-house teams
• Experience in a restaurant or high-end hospitality environment is advantageous
• Domiciled in Bali and able to join immediately

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join Masonry. Restaurant Canggu in Kuta Utara Bali on a contract basis. As Sous Chef, you will play a critical role in our kitchen operations, serving as the right hand to our Head Chef and ensuring the highest standards of culinary excellence are maintained across all our food offerings. This position is essential to the smooth running of our kitchen, the consistency of our dishes, and the overall success of our hospitality operation. You will be based in our Kuta Utara Bali location and will be responsible for leading kitchen staff, managing food preparation, and maintaining our culinary vision.

What we're looking for :

Proven experience of at least 4 years working as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen position within a hospitality setting

Advanced culinary skills with expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen management

Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and health regulations

Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and develop kitchen staff

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail

Proficiency in inventory management, stock control and cost management

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the Head Chef, management and front-of-house team

Experience in a restaurant or high-end hospitality environment is advantageous
