Job summary

OSI Electronics in Batam, Indonesia, is seeking an experienced Sourcing/Procurement professional to lead strategic supplier selection, cost optimization, and risk management across electronics components.

You will collaborate with R&D, QA, and manufacturing to ensure supply continuity, assess supplier performance, and negotiate favorable terms with external vendors. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to shape the global supply chain for a turnkey manufacturing partner.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in Sourcing/Procurement/Supply Chain in electronics manufacturing or EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services).
• Professional certification (APICS CSCP/CPIM or CPSM) is a significant plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bi-lingual a plus

• Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Selection: conduct local and global electronic component market research to identify potential new vendors and OCMs.
• Cost Optimization & Negotiation: negotiate prices, payment terms, MOQ, and lead times that benefit the company; analyze BOM cost structures.
• Supplier Relationship & Risk Management: foster strategic relationships with distributors, OCMs, and PCBAs; identify and mitigate supply risks.
• NPI & Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with R&D/Engineering during NPI to ensure component availability; collaborate with QA; transition to routine purchasing.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Selection
   • Conduct local and global electronic component market research to identify potential new vendors and Original Component Manufacturers (OCMs).
   • Manage and lead the Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes for electronic and mechanical components.
   • Evaluate the technical capabilities, financial audits, production capacity, and safety and environmental compliance of potential suppliers.
2. Cost Optimization & Negotiation
   • Negotiate prices, payment terms, Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ), and lead times that benefit the company.
   • Analyze component cost structures (BOM) to identify cost reduction and cost avoidance opportunities.
   • Manage long-term supply contract agreements (Master Service Agreements/Long-Term Agreements).
3. Supplier Relationship & Risk Management
   • Foster strategic relationships with authorized distributors, OCMs, and specialty component manufacturers (PCBAs, connectors, enclosures).
   • Identify and mitigate supply risks, such as component issues approaching End of Life (EOL)/obsolescence and seeking equivalent alternative parts.
   • Regularly monitor and assess supplier performance through the Vendor Scorecard (quality, delivery compliance, and responsiveness).
4. NPI & Cross-Functional Collaboration
   • Work closely with the R&D/Engineering team from the early stages of new product design (New Product Introduction - NPI) to ensure component availability (Design for Manufacturability & Sourcing).
   • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure suppliers meet required industry certifications.
   • Partner with the operational Purchasing/Buyer team to ensure a smooth transition from the sourcing stage to the routine purchasing cycle.
