Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Engineering, Project Management, Naval Architecture, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in shipyard, maritime, or offshore construction environments.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale, complex projects from initiation to completion.
• Strong knowledge of shipyard operations, construction techniques, ship repair processes, and maritime regulations.
• Excellent understanding of marine safety standards, IMO regulations, and international maritime compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, initiate, and execute major shipyard projects, including ship construction, repair, conversion, and maintenance programmes.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with senior management and clients.
• Lead and manage cross-functional project teams, including engineers, technicians, supervisors, and support staff.
• Monitor project progress against established baselines and implement corrective actions to ensure successful delivery.
• Manage project budgets and costs, ensuring efficient resource allocation and expenditure control.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on progress, status reports, and addressing any concerns or change requests.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations, safety standards, environmental requirements, and company policies.
• Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes throughout all project phases.
• Identify and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimise delays and cost overruns.
• Coordinate with external suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to ensure seamless project execution.
• Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, budgets, reports, and post-project evaluations.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety within the project environment.

We are seeking an experienced Shipyard Project Head to join our organisation on a full-time basis at our Batam facility. This is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of major shipyard projects from conception through completion. The Shipyard Project Head will be the principal point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is critical to our continued success and growth in the competitive maritime industry.

Experience in risk management and problem-solving in complex, dynamic environments

Fluency in English (both written and spoken); Indonesian language proficiency is advantageous

Willingness to work on-site in Batam and travel as required for project needs
