Job summary

PT JAH LINE INTERNATIONAL seeks an experienced Shipping Executive to manage end-to-end vessel operations across Indonesia's major ports. You will handle port formalities, multi-stakeholder liaison, shipping documentation, and cost reporting.

This role requires familiarity with multi-port operations in Indonesia, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and fluency in English (Mandarin a plus). The position offers a competitive salary and BPJS benefits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee port entry-exit formalities, pilotage, berthing/unberthing, crew change arrangements and bunkering supervision across Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan ports.
• Serve as primary contact for global shipowners, charterers and vessel operators; provide real-time vessel status updates.
• Prepare and review shipping documents (bill of lading, cargo manifest, customs declarations) ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Independently troubleshoot disruptions, negotiate with stakeholders to protect clients' interests.
• Monitor port disbursement expenses and prepare cost-control reports for management.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Shipping Executive with solid Indonesian ship‑agency background to manage end‑to‑end vessel operations across Indonesia major ports. You will handle port formalities, multi‑stakeholder liaison, shipping documentation, emergency resolution and cost reporting, serve global shipowners & charterers. This role suits seasoned maritime practitioners who are familiar with multi‑port operations in Indonesia and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Port Co‑ordination & Operations

Oversee full vessel port activities: port entry‑exit formalities, pilotage, berthing/un‑berthing, crew change arrangement, PSCO inspection coordination and bunkering supervision. Ensure all operations are efficient and fully compliant with local port & maritime regulations across Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan ports.

Client & Stakeholder Communication

Act as primary point‑of‑contact for global shipowners, charterers and vessel operators. Provide timely real‑time updates on vessel status and port progress. Liaise closely with shippers, consignees and stevedores; nurture and maintain long‑term business partnerships.

Shipping Documentation & Compliance

Prepare, review and process shipping documents including bill of lading, cargo manifest, customs declaration and PKKA arrangements. Strictly ensure document accuracy and full compliance with Indonesian local regulatory requirements to mitigate operational risks.

Emergency & Dispute Handling

Independently troubleshoot operational disruptions including port congestion, procedural delays and cargo‑related disputes. Conduct stakeholder negotiation to safeguard clients’ commercial interests.

Cost Management & Reporting

Monitor port disbursement expenses, support cost verification and settlement. Prepare regular operational progress and cost‑control reports for internal management.

Qualifications

• Language & Experience: Fluent written & spoken English for daily business correspondence. Mandarin proficiency is a strong plus. Minimum 2‑3 years hands‑on ship agency / marine operation working experience. Must be familiar with operations across major Indonesian ports: Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Padang, Dumai, Palembang, Taboneo, Kendawangan, Balikpapan. Candidates who can handle cross‑region port assignments independently will be highly prioritized.
• Professional Knowledge: Well‑versed in international shipping practices, Indonesian port workflows, customs and maritime regulations; familiar with Incoterms such as FOB, CIF.
• Personal Attributes: Excellent communication & coordination skills, capable of working under high operational pressure, strong problem‑solving capability, meticulous attention to detail, customer‑oriented mindset and high sense of accountability.
