Kuubiik is seeking a hands-on Service Engineer to support maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and commissioning of electrical, electronic, automation, and instrumentation systems in marine and offshore environments. The candidate should be able to work independently on-site and travel to Singapore for project assignments.

Preference for candidates based in Batam, Indonesia, with strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITE or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics/Automation/Instrumentation.
• Strong knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hands-on servicing experience.
• Willingness to travel to Singapore and overseas on project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site servicing, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, automation, and instrumentation systems.
• Conduct field service at shipyards, onboard vessels, and offshore facilities.
• Carry out testing and commissioning of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute assigned service tasks with minimal supervision.

Job Title: Service Engineer (Marine & Offshore)

Working Days/Hours: Monday-Friday / Hours may vary depending on project requirements

Contract Type: Full-Time Contract

Contract Term: 1 Year, Renewable

Work Arrangement: Based in Batam with travel to Singapore and occasional overseas assignments. All work-related travel and accommodation expenses are fully covered by the company.

Job Overview

Our company is representing a confidential client seeking a skilled and hands-on Service Engineer to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and commissioning of electrical, electronic, automation, and instrumentation systems within the marine and offshore industry.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to work independently on-site.

Candidates based in Batam Indonesia, are strongly preferred, as the role requires travel to Singapore for projects at shipyards, onboard vessels, and offshore facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site servicing, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, automation, and instrumentation systems.
• Conduct field service assignments at shipyards, onboard vessels, and offshore facilities.
• Carry out testing and commissioning of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose technical issues, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions.
• Independently plan, coordinate, and execute assigned service tasks.
• Liaise directly with clients to understand technical issues, provide updates, and recommend solutions.
• Prepare detailed service reports and technical recommendations in accordance with company standards.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant procedures.
• Travel to Singapore and other overseas locations for project assignments when required.

Job Requirements

Education & Technical Experience

• Diploma, ITE, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.
• Hands-on experience in equipment servicing, troubleshooting, maintenance, testing, or commissioning.
• Experience in the marine, offshore, or shipyard industry is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with automation and instrumentation products is an advantage.
• Candidates from other technical industries are welcome to apply if they demonstrate strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn.

Communication & Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and project stakeholders.
• Able to explain technical issues and solutions clearly.
• Independent, resourceful, and confident in troubleshooting on-site.
• Organised, responsible, and capable of managing tasks with minimal supervision.
• Adaptable and comfortable working in shipyards and onboard vessels.

Location & Travel Requirements

• Preferably based in Batam or Bintan, Indonesia, or nearby locations with convenient access to Singapore.
• Willing and able to travel to Singapore for project assignments.
• Comfortable working at shipyards, marine facilities, and onboard vessels.
• Open to occasional overseas assignments.
• Able to meet applicable travel and work authorisation requirements.
