Responsibilities

• Perform marine-related service, commissioning (mechanical and electrical).
• On-site supervision, troubleshooting, warranty handling, testing.
• Prepare service/calibration reports and communicate progress to customers.
• Occasionally sail with the vessel as needed.
• Provide technical support and guidance on Scanjet products.
• Conduct risk assessments and follow safety regulations on site.
• Provide equipment training to customers and new technicians.

About the role

PT. Scanjet Production Indah is seeking a dedicated Service Engineer to join our team in Batam, Riau Islands. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our mechanical equipment and systems. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical systems, providing technical support to our clients, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our service delivery. This role is integral to our operations and directly impacts customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Execute marine related services and commissioning (mechanical and electrical) assigned from Scanjet Service coordinators.
• On-site supervision and performing troubleshooting, warranty issue and testing.
• Prepare service and/or calibration report of the work activities carried out and spare parts used. This includes sending progress reports to Service coordinators/ Service managers as well as customer(s) if required.
• If required, sail with the vessel.
• Provide technical support and advice customers on Scanjet products.
• Carry out risk assessment for each service and observe safe work practice. At all times comply with regulations at work site (e.g. on-board vessels and at shipyards).
• Providing equipment training to customers and new service technicians if needed.

What we're looking for

• A degree or equivalent working experience in Electrical Engineering or the Mechanical field.
• Must be able to apply for visas and have no history of issues with any country’s immigration authorities.
• Solid background in mechanical skills and at the same time seek to develop your skillset on electrical.
• Service-minded and resulted orientated.
• A teamplayer and find ways to solve challenges by having a problem-solving mindset and you manage changes well and able to adapt to a new situation.
• Structured person (good ability in organizing and prioritizing), able to meet deadlines as well as work under pressure.
• Good knowledge in English, both verbal and written.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Previous experience of working with safety protocols and quality standards.
• Previous experience in a service organization or yard related activities is a plus.
• Able to communicate in Mandarin Language is a plus.
