Job summary

PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk is seeking a detail-oriented Sensory Evaluation Staff to plan, execute, and analyze sensory tests for our food and feed products at the Megamendung, Bogor site.

You will recruit and train sensory panelists, prepare samples and questionnaires, analyze data with statistical software, and collaborate with R&D, QC, and Marketing to support product improvement while maintaining a compliant sensory lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• 1–2 years in sensory evaluation, QA, or product development in food/feed industries.
• Strong understanding of sensory evaluation methodologies, statistics, and software.
• Excellent sensory acuity with no allergies affecting testing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and statistical tools.
• Strong communication and leadership of sensory panels.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, set up, and conduct sensory evaluation tests (discrimination, descriptive, consumer) for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
• Recruit, train, monitor, and maintain internal sensory evaluators.
• Prepare sensory samples, environments, and questionnaires per SOPs.
• Analyze sensory data with statistical software and prepare reports with findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with R&D, QC, and Marketing to support product development and quality consistency.
• Maintain and manage the sensory laboratory, calibration, inventory, and hygiene standards.

Job Summary

PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Sensory Evaluation Staff. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing sensory tests for our various food and feed products. Placement in Megamendung, Bogor.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, set up, and conduct sensory evaluation tests (including discrimination, descriptive, and consumer preference tests) for raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
• Recruit, train, monitor, and maintain a panel of internal sensory evaluators to ensure consistent and objective tasting standards.
• Prepare sensory samples, testing environments, and questionnaires in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Analyze sensory data using statistical software and prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings, trends, and recommendations for product improvement.
• Collaborate closely with the Research & Development (R&D), Quality Control (QC), and Marketing departments to support new product development and ensure product quality consistency.
• Maintain and manage the sensory laboratory, including equipment calibration, inventory of supplies, and adherence to hygiene and safety standards.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in sensory evaluation, quality assurance, or product development, preferably within the food, beverage, or animal feed industry.
• Strong understanding of sensory evaluation methodologies, statistical analysis, and sensory software.
• Excellent sensory acuity (highly developed senses of taste, smell, and sight) with no known food allergies that would interfere with product testing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and statistical tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate sensory panels.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
