Job summary

Ajaib Group in Indonesia seeks a Senior SRE Engineer II to own the reliability of production services end-to-end, focusing on observability, incident response, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, releases and capacity.

You will work with product engineering teams to keep trading, payment and money systems available and fast, lead incidents when they happen, remove manual work through automation, and help the engineers around you grow.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE, DevOps, or platform roles with production traffic.
• Strong knowledge of SLOs, incident management and capacity planning.
• Hands-on observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry.
• Kubernetes, Terraform, and a major cloud (GCP/AWS).
• Go, Python or Bash for tooling and automation.
• Strong Linux networking and problem solving skills.
• Ownership mindset and clear communication; fintech experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability of services and platforms; define and track SLOs.
• Build and improve monitoring, logging, tracing, alerts; reduce noise.
• Lead on-call rotation; incident response and blameless post-mortems.
• Maintain cloud and Kubernetes infra as code with safe rollouts.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and canary releases; automate rollbacks.
• Plan capacity for peaks; run load tests; manage cloud spend.
• Keep databases, Kafka and Redis healthy with backups and failover.
• Automate repetitive work; reduce toil with tooling.
• Run recovery tests and game days; keep runbooks up to date.
• Collaborate with Security/Compliance on access control and audits.
• Review production readiness of new services; mentor mid-level engineers.

Role Overview

As a Senior SRE Engineer II at Ajaib, you own the reliability of production services and platforms end to end: observability, incident response, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, releases and capacity. You work with product engineering teams to keep trading, payment and money systems available and fast, lead incidents when they happen, remove manual work through automation, and help the engineers around you grow.

• Own the reliability of services and platforms: define SLOs with product teams, track them and act when they are at risk.
• Build and improve monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting so that problems are found quickly and alerts are useful and not noisy.
• Be part of the on-call rotation, lead incident response, restore service quickly and run blameless post-mortems with tracked action items.
• Build and maintain cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure as code, with code review and safe rollout of every change.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and release practices, including canary releases, automated rollback and safe database changes.
• Plan capacity for known peaks, such as market open and salary days, run load tests and keep cloud cost under control.
• Keep databases, Kafka and Redis healthy, with tested backups, failover and monitoring.
• Automate repetitive work with code and measure the toil removed.
• Run recovery tests and game days for the systems you own, and keep runbooks accurate.
• Work with Security and Compliance on access control, secrets management, patching and audit evidence.
• Review production readiness of new services and give clear reliability guidance to engineering teams.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and share knowledge within the team.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional engineering in SRE, DevOps, infrastructure or platform roles, including on-call ownership of production systems with real traffic.
• Reliability Engineering: Solid understanding of SLOs, incident management, capacity planning and resilience patterns.
• Observability: Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging and tracing tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog and OpenTelemetry.
• Infrastructure: Strong experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure as code (Terraform) and a major cloud platform (GCP or AWS).
• Automation & Languages: Good programming and scripting skills in Go, Python or Bash, used to build tools and automation.
• Systems Fundamentals: Strong Linux, networking (DNS, TLS, load balancing) and troubleshooting skills.
• Data & Messaging Operations: Working experience operating relational databases, Kafka or Redis.
• Mindset & Domain: Ownership mindset and clear communication. Experience in fintech or another regulated, high-traffic environment is a strong plus.
