Job summary

Grab is seeking a Senior Specialist, Benefits Operations based in Indonesia to lead daily benefits operations across Indonesia, Cambodia, and Thailand. You will manage medical insurance, leave entitlements, and the GrabFlex program, partnering with local People teams, payroll, and external vendors to ensure compliant, timely service.

You will bring 8+ years of HR Operations experience, strong knowledge of local labor laws, and a customer-centric mindset to support Grabbers while improving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR/Business Administration or related field.
• 8+ years in HR Operations focusing on Benefits.
• Experience managing benefits across multiple countries in the region (Indonesia/Cambodia/Thailand).
• Experience with external vendors and SLA management.
• Knowledge of local labor laws and market practices.
• Strong customer service orientation and data confidentiality.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex benefit escalations.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end daily benefits operations across Cambodia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
• Administer insurance enrollments, terminations, and dependent updates with brokers.
• Oversee leave administration with compliance to local laws.
• Be primary contact for employee inquiries on benefits and leave.
• Support GrabFlex benefits program administration and enrollment cycles.
• Collaborate with Payroll and Workday teams for accurate data and reporting.
• Maintain benefits SOPs and internal documentation.
• Identify gaps and propose process improvements.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for a Senior Specialist, Benefits Operations to manage our daily benefits operations across Cambodia, Thailand, and Indonesia. You will be the backbone of our benefits administration, ensuring critical programs like medical insurance, leave entitlements, and our flexible benefits program (GrabFlex) run smoothly.

You will partner with local People teams, payroll, external vendors, and directly with Grabbers to resolve inquiries, ensure compliance, and improve our daily processes. You will suit someone who combines regional HR operational experience and a customer-centric mindset. This role is individual contributor.

You are reporting to Regional Payroll & Benefit Operations Lead and will be based in Indonesia.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Manage the end-to-end daily benefits operations across Cambodia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
• Administer employee insurance programs (enrollments, terminations, dependent updates) and act as the liaison for claims escalations with external brokers and vendors.
• Oversee leave administration (annual, parental, medical and other available leaves type), ensuring accurate tracking and compliance with local labor laws and company policies in the respective countries.
• Be a primary contact for Grabber inquiries regarding benefits, insurance, and leave, providing on time delivery, accurate, and empathetic support.
• Support the operational execution of regional well-being programs, including the administration of our GrabFlex platform and annual enrollment cycles.
• Partner with Payroll and People Systems (Workday) teams to ensure accurate benefits data entry, automated deductions, and reporting.
• Maintain internal benefits documentation, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Identify gaps in current processes and recommend improvements to simplify operations and enhance the Grabber experience.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in HR Operations, specifically focusing on Benefits Administration, Total Rewards, or Employee Services.
• Experience managing benefits (such as medical insurance, leave tracking, and allowances) in at least one, but preferably multiple, of the target countries: Indonesia, Thailand, and Cambodia.
• Experience managing and reviewing Service level agreements with external vendors and insurance brokers.
• Experience with local labor laws, statutory requirements, and market practices regarding employee benefits in the region.
• Customer service orientation to support employees at all levels.
• Manage confidential data with integrity.
• Using data as truth of source.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex benefit escalations or data discrepancies by applying to identify causes and implement, long-term solutions.

Good to have

• Hands-on experience using Workday and ticketing systems (Freshservice).
• Fluency in English is a advantage for with local partners and vendors.
