Job summary

Airwallex is seeking a Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance, Indonesia to lead regulatory engagement and manage our licensing and compliance program in the region. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement processes that ensure compliance while enabling regional growth.

The role emphasizes regulatory risk management, reporting obligations, and liaison with regulators to secure registrations and licenses, shaping policy and controls for scalable business expansion in Asia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with substantial compliance experience in a regulated financial institution, FinTech, or related field.
• Familiarity with financial regulatory laws and guidance in Indonesia and across Asia.
• Data proficiency and ability to leverage it for strategic decision-making.
• Strategic, creative thinking to solve complex regulatory compliance challenges.
• Superior communication skills to explain complex topics to regulators, leadership, and staff.
• Experience developing or maintaining a compliance program within financial services, especially payments.
• Exposure to licensing, regulatory expansion, and RegTech or tech-driven compliance solutions.
• Understanding of financial products, conduct risk, ethics, and related controls.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the regulatory engagement strategy for Indonesia and manage licensing responsibilities.
• Coordinate with regulators and internal/external stakeholders to ensure compliance and reporting.
• Maintain Indonesia regulatory obligations and support regulatory requests.
• Advise on regulatory change initiatives affecting compliance risk and laws across jurisdictions.
• Develop policies and processes related to regulatory risk within the first line of business.
• Oversee regulatory risk within the Risk Management Framework and escalation processes.
• Advise on conduct risk and ethics matters related to financial services licences.
• Deliver the Compliance Monitoring Program and conduct reviews to improve maturity.
• Lead Compliance Training for employees and ad-hoc training as needed.
• Lead proactive projects to unlock business or operational issues aligned with strategic goals.
