PT Bangdja Multi Niaga is seeking a seasoned Purchasing Development professional to lead supplier development across FMCG raw materials. The role partners with R&D, QA, and Production to secure material availability, quality, and compliance while expanding the supplier base.
You will drive supplier audits, evaluate new materials, and ensure Halal and regulatory requirements are met. Strong English communication and cross-functional teamwork are essential for success.
This position is responsible for sourcing raw materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring material availability, quality, and compliance. This role works closely with R&D, QA, and Production teams to support product development, mitigate supply risks, and maintain up-to-date supplier and material standards.
Source and identify new raw materials in line with R&D / Product Development requirements.
Proactively identify alternative raw materials to mitigate risks related to supply shortages or significant price increases.
Identify, evaluate, and develop new and alternative suppliers to ensure a reliable and competitive supply base.
Handle quality-related issues, including product quality concerns, production findings, and other material-related problems, in coordination with QA and relevant stakeholders.
Manage the registration and onboarding process of new raw materials and suppliers, ensuring all requirements are fulfilled.
Collaborate with the QA team to conduct annual supplier audits.
Maintain and update raw material (RM) standardization data in the purchasing database/drive.
Communicate any updates or changes in material specifications or standards to suppliers in a timely manner.
Request and ensure the completeness and validity of all supplier documentation, including Halal certificates, external lab test reports, certifications, legal documents, and other required documentation.
Coordinate with suppliers to request shelf-life extensions, including obtaining official supporting letters, and follow up with internal R&D for approval decisions.
Bachelor’s degree in any major.
At least 5 years of working experience in Purchasing Development / Supplier Development from FMCG industry or food manufacturing.
Good understanding of supplier development processes, quality evaluation, and raw material (RM) supplier audits.
Excellent communication skills in English (Mandarin is a plus).
Good understanding of quality standards, certifications (e.g., Halal), and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrates a good work attitude, responsible, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Possesses strong communication, analytical, and coordination skills.
