Senior Project Manager - Electrical Construction
Seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of electrical construction projects, with strong exposure to Data Center projects. The position requires a combination of strong technical knowledge, project leadership, commercial awareness, and contract management capability. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed technical, commercial, and contractual requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of electrical construction projects from tender handover through completion.
- Review project scope, technical specifications, drawings, BOQs, and commercial requirements.
- Develop project execution plans, schedules, manpower requirements, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress, productivity, costs, and overall project performance.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Oversee procurement and supplier coordination, including material requirements, quotations, and purchase orders.
- Monitor project budgets and assess the financial impact of labor, materials, subcontractors, and other project costs.
- Manage contractual matters and ensure project activities are aligned with agreed terms and conditions.
- Prepare and manage progress claims, variation submissions, and other commercial documentation.
- Identify potential project delays, assess their impact, and coordinate appropriate contractual or commercial actions.
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical construction projects.
- Extensive experience in Data Center construction projects is required.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in electrical construction, particularly electrical installation and distribution systems, busduct / busbar systems, high-voltage switchgear, cable containment systems, and electrical infrastructure and commissioning.
- Strong understanding of construction project management and contracting operations.
- Experience in construction contract administration and commercial project management.
- Good knowledge of Quantity Surveying, including technical drawings, specifications, BOQs, quantity take-off, tender preparation, and costing.
- Experience handling project variations, claims, cost assessment, and contractual matters.
- Good understanding of project budgets, cost control, and financial performance.
- Strong leadership, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
