Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a highly analytical Senior Project Data Specialist in Batam, Indonesia. You will turn complex data into insights, build automated reporting, and present actionable recommendations to leaders. You’ll develop Power BI dashboards, automate reports, and support digitalization across functions.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, own data quality, and drive process improvements using Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate within a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, business intelligence or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in data analytics, BI, reporting, or digital transformation.
• Proven ability to design interactive dashboards with Power BI.
• Strong Excel skills including PivotTables, Power Query, Power Pivot.
• Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 ecosystem; SAP or similar ERP familiarity.

The Role: Senior Project Data Specialist

We are looking for a highly analytical and digitally savvy Senior Project Data Specialist to turn complex business data into meaningful insights, automated reporting solutions, and clear recommendations for decision-makers.

In this role, you will collect and analyze data from multiple sources, develop interactive Power BI dashboards, automate recurring reports, and support digitalization initiatives across the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify performance gaps, and translate analytical findings into executive-level presentations and actionable improvement plans.

What will you do?

Data Analytics & Business Insights

• Collect, clean, validate, and analyze large datasets from multiple business sources.
• Identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance gaps through quantitative analysis.
• Translate data into practical insights and recommendations that support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and scenario modeling to support business and process improvement initiatives.
• Monitor key performance indicators and project performance metrics.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy, integrity, and consistency across analytical outputs.

Dashboard Development & Reporting Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI.
• Create clear and user-friendly data visualizations that enable stakeholders to monitor business performance effectively.
• Automate recurring reports to reduce manual work, improve reporting accuracy, and accelerate access to information.
• Develop and maintain KPI tracking and performance-monitoring systems.
• Ensure consistency and data integrity across dashboards and reporting platforms.
• Continuously improve reporting solutions based on evolving business requirements and user feedback.

Digitalization & Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to digitalize, simplify, and automate business processes.
• Support automation and digital transformation initiatives using Microsoft Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into practical digital solutions.
• Lead or support continuous improvement projects that enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
• Evaluate new digital tools and technologies based on business needs.
• Contribute to the development of scalable reporting and automation practices across the organization.

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with stakeholders across different functions to understand reporting, analytical, and digitalization requirements.
• Facilitate discussions to clarify business challenges and align stakeholders on proposed solutions.
• Partner with business teams to ensure dashboards and reports address operational and management priorities.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Build effective working relationships and influence stakeholders through data-supported recommendations.

Executive Reporting & Data Storytelling

• Prepare executive-level presentations, performance reports, and management updates.
• Transform complex analytical findings into clear, relevant, and compelling business narratives.
• Communicate insights in a way that supports informed and timely decision-making.
• Present key trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to management.
• Provide training and guidance to end users on dashboards and reporting tools.

What qualifications will make you successful?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Approximately 3 to 7 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or digital transformation.
• Proven experience developing interactive dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, Power Query, and Power Pivot.
• Strong knowledge of data cleaning, validation, visualization, and data-quality management.
• Experience working with SharePoint and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent platforms.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for different audiences.

Preferred Skills

• Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in a manufacturing, supply chain, project management, operations, or multinational environment.
• Practical experience using Power Apps and Power Automate to improve business processes.
• Exposure to AI-assisted analytics and reporting tools.
• Experience preparing executive presentations and management-level performance reports.
• Strong project management skills and experience coordinating cross-functional digital initiatives.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a cross-functional team.
