Job summary

Save the Children is seeking a Midwife to support emergency programs in Afar, providing essential maternal and child health services and helping establish accountability mechanisms with beneficiaries.

The role requires a Diploma/ Bachelor in Midwifery and at least three years of relevant experience, including clinical work in MCH settings. The incumbent will coordinate mobile health activities and collaborate with MOH staff to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor degree in Midwifery.
• Minimum three years of working experience, with at least two years in maternal and child health (MCH).
• Clinical experience in health facilities is mandatory, particularly in MCH areas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate mobile health and nutrition activities, site selection and prepare weekly movement plan.
• Provide basic health and nutrition services including community ANC, FP IMNCI/ICCM, safe motherhood, emergency services, referral, health education and EPI.
• Facilitate essential drugs, supplies and therapeutic products for the team and health facilities.
• Train and work closely with MOH staff at health posts, health centres and hospitals at district level.
• Organize daily/weekly/monthly reports on ANC, FP, EPI, health education and consultations; ensure referral linkage.
