Job summary

Save the Children Indonesia is seeking a Project Officer (Health and WASH) to oversee emergency health and WASH interventions in project areas. You will initiate and manage humanitarian responses, coordinating with the IO and local stakeholders to ensure mothers and children receive proper care and access to tertiary services as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health or public health related field.
• At least 3 years experience implementing development or humanitarian programs.
• Experience in Primary Healthcare Projects.
• Experience working on community-driven projects with local leaders.
• Understanding Kayin State context and conflict setting is an asset.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Experience with financial and budgetary controls for grants.
• Willingness to travel to remote areas and work under pressure.
• Computer proficiency, especially MS Word and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills in the local language.

Responsibilities

• Timely, efficient, and effective implementation of community-based health activities.
• Operate project activities in line with work plans and budgets.
• Provide supportive supervision visits to project villages and create improvement plans.
• Monitor CBHWs capacity and participate in capacity-building processes.
• Coordinate with health facilities for smooth emergency referrals.
• Oversee implementation of WASH activities in IDP camps and relocation sites.
• Ensure rapid responses to flooding, AWD and water contamination.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain for procurement and delivery of emergency kits.
• Monitor project data with the MEAL Officer and prepare monthly progress reports.
• Represent SCI in coordination with local authorities and communities.
