PT PANCA AMARA UTAMA in Indonesia is seeking a Senior Laboratory Supervisor for the Ammonia Plant. You will oversee laboratory readiness, quality control activities, analytical methods, documentation, and compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 to support operational decisions.
Key duties include supervising routine and non-routine sample analyses from Ammonia, utilities and environment, calibrating GC, spectrophotometers, and analyzers, and maintaining lab procedures.
Join our ESSA team as Sr. Laboratory Supervisor. This role will focus on overseeing laboratory equipment readiness, quality control activities, analytical methods, documentation, and compliance with applicable laboratory management systems, including SNI ISO/IEC 17025:2017, where applicable, to support operational monitoring, process control, product quality assurance, and effective management decision-making.
Key responsibilities
Supervise and ensure timely analysis of routine and non-routine samples from Ammonia, Utility, environmental, and supporting plant systems, including proper recording and reporting of analytical results.
Ensure laboratory equipment and instruments, including Gas Chromatographs, Spectrophotometers, and Analyzers, are properly calibrated, verified, validated, maintained, and operated in accordance with laboratory procedures.
Support laboratory equipment setup, testing, and performance verification during pre-commissioning, commissioning, and plant operation stages.
Review, interpret, and validate laboratory test results, and promptly report off-specification results, abnormal parameters, equipment failures, or other critical conditions to relevant parties.
Develop, evaluate, and improve laboratory test methods, procedures, work instructions, technical reports, and supporting documentation.
Plan and coordinate laboratory activities, testing schedules, resource requirements, proficiency testing, and interlaboratory comparison programs to ensure the validity and reliability of test results.
Monitor laboratory personnel competency, provide technical and HSE training, and ensure laboratory staff perform their duties in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Implement and maintain the laboratory management system in accordance with SNI ISO/IEC 17025:2017, including monitoring system effectiveness, deviations, changes, and continuous improvement actions.
Ensure compliance with applicable HSE requirements, SMK3, Environmental Management System (SML), and Company HSE policies throughout laboratory, sampling, and testing activities.
Ensure safe sampling, handling, processing, and disposal of samples, particularly those involving hazardous materials or hazardous plant areas.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Analysis or other relevant disciplines.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in laboratory operations, preferably within the chemical, petrochemical, fertilizer, oil & gas, or similar process industries.
Strong knowledge of laboratory safety, laboratory management systems, analytical data processing, and laboratory instrumentation, particularly in accordance with SNI ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
Strong knowledge and practical experience in proper sampling techniques and laboratory analysis, particularly for gas and water samples.
Good understanding of laboratory instruments and analytical equipment, including Gas Chromatographs, Spectrophotometers, Analyzers, and other relevant laboratory equipment.
Strong knowledge of quality control, test result validation, laboratory procedures, and maintaining the accuracy and reliability of analytical results.
Strong understanding of HSE requirements related to laboratory operations, chemical handling, hazardous materials, and sampling activities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to supervise laboratory activities and maintain product and testing quality standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, for data processing, reporting, and laboratory administration.
Good command of spoken and written English.
