Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking an experienced Primary Engineer to join our Engineering team in Jakarta.

You will lead the design and engineering of high-voltage substations and primary electrical systems, delivering technical specifications, layout designs, and rigorous feasibility studies. You will collaborate with project managers, customers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams, providing mentorship to junior engineers and guiding procurement and bid evaluations while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years in primary engineering for HV projects (transmission/distribution/utility-scale).
• Experience delivering EPC/utility/renewable/industrial projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bentley applications or equivalent.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of high-voltage substations and primary electrical systems.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables including single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, grounding designs, and technical specifications.
• Perform technical assessments, feasibility studies, and engineering calculations to support project execution.
• Collaborate with project managers, customers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Support equipment selection, procurement activities, and technical bid evaluations.
• Identify engineering risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Hitachi Energy quality processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, innovation, and engineering best practices.
