Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks an experienced Primary Engineer to lead the design and engineering of high-voltage substations and primary electrical systems. You will review deliverables, perform calculations, and guide junior engineers while coordinating with project teams and customers.

The role demands strong knowledge of HV substations, switchgear, transformers, grounding, and plant design, along with proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Bentley tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 7 years in primary engineering for HV/utility projects.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, MicroStation or Bentley tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of high-voltage substations and primary electrical systems.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables like single-line diagrams and layouts.
• Perform technical assessments and calculations to support projects.
• Collaborate with project teams, customers, suppliers and engineers to meet objectives.
• Provide technical leadership to junior engineers and designers.
• Support equipment selection, procurement and bid evaluations.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation throughout the lifecycle.
• Ensure designs comply with standards and Hitachi Energy processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and best practices.
