Job summary

CoverGo is seeking a senior software engineer to build AI-powered insurance tools in a fully remote, freelance capacity. You will ship end-to-end solutions, prototype quickly, and transition prototypes to production with real customer impact.

You will work directly with carriers, brokers, and claims workflows, applying AI to document understanding and automation. Join a small team with a large mandate: push the product, the codebase, and the way we work.

Qualifications

6+ years building production systems.
Real AI experience shipping substantive AI-driven features.
Strong fundamentals in OO, design patterns, testing, security, performance.
Cloud experience with at least one major provider (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders and engineers.

Responsibilities

Own outcomes, not tickets; pick levers for customers each sprint and drive to live.
Build with AI as a primary tool: OCR, document understanding, generation, agent loops, evaluation harnesses.
Ship prototypes fast and raise them to production-grade.
Work directly with customers on real claims, underwriting screens, broker workflows.
Improve the codebase: reviews, refactors, testability, observability.
Push the team forward: skills, agents, internal tools, engineering standards.
