Job summary

PaxOcean in Batam, Indonesia, is seeking an experienced Senior Executive, Commercial (Lead Estimator) to head the estimating function for ship repair projects, delivering accurate, competitive cost estimates and tenders.

You will coordinate with engineering, planning, and procurement, guide the estimation team, and oversee risk, variations, and profitability to support bid strategy and negotiations.

Qualifications

• Leadership and mentoring of estimation teams.
• Proven experience in preparing cost estimates and tenders for ship repair projects.
• Strong proficiency with MS Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the estimating team to prepare cost estimates and tenders for ship repair projects, including dry docking and repairs.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, subcontracting, equipment, and services.
• Prepare complete commercial proposals, bid summaries, and pricing schedules for tenders and quotations.
• Identify and evaluate subcontractors, vendors, and specialists; obtain quotations and perform bid analyses.
• Manage variation/change pricing and ensure profitability, risk assessment, and cost control.
