Job summary

TRIPATRA is seeking a Quality Controller – Coating to oversee coating and painting activities at AREA PROJECT PHR JPK. The role requires extensive hands-on QC experience in coatings, surface preparation, and DFT testing, with familiarity with SSPC/NACE standards.

The candidate should have a relevant engineering degree (6+ years) or a Diploma with extended experience, plus certifications within the last five years.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree (S1) or D4 in any Engineering discipline with 6+ years of experience in engineering, fabrication, construction, or QC services.
• Minimum 4+ years in Coating Quality Control Inspection on Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Civil Construction, Mining, Geothermal, or Power projects.
• Strong knowledge of coating inspection, surface preparation, coating application, and QC requirements per international standards.
• Experience inspecting surface prep, environmental conditions, coating, DFT, adhesion, holiday testing, and acceptance criteria.
• Holds valid coating inspection certification(s) issued within the last 5 years by AMPP/NACE/SSPC or equivalent.
• Strong analytical, reporting, communication, and coordination skills with Contractors and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and monitor coating and painting activities to ensure compliance with specs and standards.
• Verify surface prep, coating application, and inspection activities meet QC requirements.
• Collaborate with Company representatives and Contractors to follow project quality standards.
• Prepare and maintain routine coating inspection reports and quality records.
• Ensure Contractors perform activities according to SOPs and project specs.
• Identify defects or non-conformities, recommend corrective actions, and monitor closure.
• Coordinate with Contractors and project teams to support QA and continuous improvement.
• Report to Lead Quality Controller and assist in overseeing field QC activities.
