Job summary

CBM 360° TIV is seeking a Painting Inspector to ensure coating and painting activities meet industry standards, project specifications, and quality requirements. The role focuses on surface preparation, application control, and inspection to protect critical oil & gas assets from corrosion and environmental damage.

3–7 years of experience in painting/coating inspection, preferably in Oil & Gas, with field experience in pipelines, tanks, or structural steel.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical / Materials / Coatings / Engineering.
• NACE Level 1/2 or BGAS certification preferred.
• 3–7 years in painting/coating inspection (Oil & Gas preferred).

Responsibilities

• Inspect surface preparation (blasting, cleaning) before coating application.
• Monitor painting/coating processes as per project specs and standards.
• Conduct DFT (Dry Film Thickness), adhesion, and visual inspections.
• Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO, NACE, SSPC.
• Maintain inspection reports and quality documentation.
• Identify defects and recommend corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect surface preparation (blasting, cleaning) before coating application
• Monitor painting/coating processes as per project specs and standards
• Conduct DFT (Dry Film Thickness), adhesion, and visual inspections
• Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO, NACE, SSPC
• Maintain inspection reports and quality documentation
• Identify defects and recommend corrective actions

Education & Qualification

• Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical / Materials / Coatings / Engineering
• NACE Level 1/2 or BGAS certification (preferred, not optional in serious projects)

Experience

• 3-7 years in painting/coating inspection (Oil & Gas preferred)
• Field experience in pipelines, tanks, or structural steel is expected

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of coating systems and corrosion protection
• Hands-on experience with inspection tools (DFT gauge, hygrometer, etc.)
• Understanding of surface prep standards (Sa 2.5, etc.)

Languages

• English (mandatory for reporting)
• Bahasa Indonesia (strong advantage, practically required on-site)
