Job summary

McDermott is seeking a Senior Quality Inspector specialized in coating and painting to lead QC activities, mentor junior inspectors, and ensure compliance with project standards.

You will review ITPs, manage non-conformities, and coordinate with engineering, operations, and customers to drive defects out of the coating process. This role requires extensive experience in oil & gas fabrication and offshore/onshore projects.

Qualifications

• Ten (10+) years of experience in Quality Control inspection with significant coating/painting exposure.
• Knowledge of coating standards such as NACE/AMPP, SSPC, ISO 12944 and client specs.
• Relevant coating inspection certifications (NACE/AMPP Level 2 or 3, FROSIO) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead coating and painting QC activities to verify product conformity against customer specs and project requirements.
• Review, implement, and enforce ITPs for coating activities including surface prep, environmental controls, and curing.
• Identify, document, and manage coating non-conformities with corrective actions.
• Direct and participate in coating inspections to ensure compliance with procedures and specs.
• Liaise with project team, suppliers, and clients to resolve coating-related quality issues.
