Job summary

WireHire is seeking a high-performing Coal Trader / Marketing Executive for a premier Indonesian resources and trading conglomerate. You will drive end-to-end physical coal trading strategies, expand domestic and export market share, and optimize supply chain economics from mine mouth to vessel laycan.

The role requires strong off-taker networks, market intelligence on indices and freight rates, and hands-on operational capability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, International Trade, or Finance.
Minimum 15 years of proven physical coal trading/marketing experience in Indonesia.
Established network with mine owners, end-users, vessel owners/brokers, and surveyors across Indonesia and regional export destinations.
Strong understanding of Indonesian coal specs (GAR 3000–5800), ICI indexing, INCOTERMS, and shipping laytime mechanics.
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia; Mandarin is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

Lead originate, structure, and execute physical coal trading transactions domestically and for export to markets like China, India, SEA, and East Asia.
Secure off-take agreements and optimize coal sourcing portfolios; manage pricing terms (FOB/CFR/CIF) and laytime/demurrage terms.
Draft, negotiate, and finalize commercial sales and purchase agreements; collaborate with QA/QC on coal specs.
