Job summary

Roll Group is seeking an experienced Ballast Engineer to join our Engineering team in Batam, Indonesia, supporting complex marine operations across offshore, shipyard, port, and infrastructure projects. You will develop ballast, stability, and marine load-out engineering for barges, pontoons, and floating structures, review vessel data, and prepare ballast plans for load-out and berth activities.

The role requires 5–10 years of relevant experience and a strong track record in stability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5–10 years of marine engineering, naval architecture, or offshore installation experience.
• Proven ballast planning and stability calculation track record.

Responsibilities

• Develop and verify ballast, stability, and marine load-out engineering.
• Review vessel and cargo data including hydrostatics and deck strength.
• Prepare ballast and de-ballast plans for load-out/load-in and berth activities.
• Perform stability calculations (displacement, drafts, trim, heel/list).
• Coordinate with Naval Architects, Marine Warranty Surveyors, and clients.
• Contribute to risk assessments and method statements.
