Job summary

PT Citra Tubindo Tbk in Batam, Indonesia, is seeking a skilled Rigger to ensure safe lifting, rigging, loading, unloading and material handling in line with HSE standards. You will install and dismantle rigging gear, inspect equipment, guide crane operators with hand signals, and coordinate with heavy equipment, production and safety teams to maintain a clean, safe work area and meet lifting plans.

The role requires at least 2 years of rigger experience in oil & gas, shipbuilding, manufacturing

Qualifications

• Minimum SMA/SMK or equivalent.
• Prefer Mechanical/Industrial background.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a rigger in relevant sectors.
• Experience handling lifting with pipes and heavy equipment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Install and dismantle rigging equipment, including slings, shackles, wire ropes, chain blocks, spreader beams, and other lifting accessories.
• Ensure all lifting gear is in serviceable condition before use.
• Conduct visual inspections of rigging equipment and report any defects or non-conformities.
• Guide crane operators using standard hand signals or radio communication during lifting operations.
• Assist in loading, unloading, stacking, and movement of pipes, casing, tubing, and other equipment.
• Verify that load weight and lifting equipment capacity comply with the approved lifting plan.
• Adhere to Lifting Operations procedures, Permit to Work (PTW) requirements, and all company HSE regulations.
• Participate in Toolbox Meetings and Risk Assessments prior to the commencement of work.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Stop work immediately if any unsafe condition or unsafe act is identified.
• Coordinate with Heavy Equipment Operators, Supervisors, Warehouse, Production, and HSE personnel to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor as required by operational needs.

Requirements:

Education

• Minimum High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Rigger in the Oil & Gas, Shipbuilding, Manufacturing, Heavy Industry, or Construction sectors.
• Experience handling lifting activities involving pipes, tubular products, and heavy equipment is an advantage.

Certifications

• Valid Rigger Certification (Slinger/Rigger License) is mandatory.
• General HSE Certification or Basic Safety Training (BST) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of lifting plans and rigging calculations is preferred.
• Proficient in the use of slings, shackles, hooks, wire ropes, spreader beams, and other lifting accessories.
• Knowledge of load charts and Safe Working Load (SWL) requirements.
• Ability to inspect rigging equipment and identify defects.
• Proficient in standard crane hand signals.
• Good understanding of lifting operations and HSE procedures.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Disciplined, responsible, and reliable.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Willingness to work shifts when required.
