To ensure all lifting, rigging, loading, unloading, and material handling activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and applicable HSE regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and dismantle rigging equipment, including slings, shackles, wire ropes, chain blocks, spreader beams, and other lifting accessories.
- Ensure all lifting gear is in serviceable condition before use.
- Conduct visual inspections of rigging equipment and report any defects or non-conformities.
- Guide crane operators using standard hand signals or radio communication during lifting operations.
- Assist in loading, unloading, stacking, and movement of pipes, casing, tubing, and other equipment.
- Verify that load weight and lifting equipment capacity comply with the approved lifting plan.
- Adhere to Lifting Operations procedures, Permit to Work (PTW) requirements, and all company HSE regulations.
- Participate in Toolbox Meetings and Risk Assessments prior to the commencement of work.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Stop work immediately if any unsafe condition or unsafe act is identified.
- Coordinate with Heavy Equipment Operators, Supervisors, Warehouse, Production, and HSE personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor as required by operational needs.
Requirements:
Education
- Minimum High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Rigger in the Oil & Gas, Shipbuilding, Manufacturing, Heavy Industry, or Construction sectors.
- Experience handling lifting activities involving pipes, tubular products, and heavy equipment is an advantage.
Certifications
- Valid Rigger Certification (Slinger/Rigger License) is mandatory.
- General HSE Certification or Basic Safety Training (BST) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of lifting plans and rigging calculations is preferred.
- Proficient in the use of slings, shackles, hooks, wire ropes, spreader beams, and other lifting accessories.
- Knowledge of load charts and Safe Working Load (SWL) requirements.
- Ability to inspect rigging equipment and identify defects.
- Proficient in standard crane hand signals.
- Good understanding of lifting operations and HSE procedures.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Disciplined, responsible, and reliable.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to work shifts when required.
