Job summary

Haskoning is seeking a Lead Design Manager – Data Centres to drive technical excellence across hyperscale and colocation projects in APAC, based in Jakarta or Ho Chi Minh City. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage technical risk, and ensure design quality across all stages.

You will lead collaborations with clients and project managers, support BIM-enabled delivery, and mentor regional engineers while advancing Haskoning’s MCF presence in Indonesia, Vietnam, and beyond.

Qualifications

• Holds a Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 10+ years of experience in multidisciplinary design and project delivery.
• Proven experience delivering mission critical facilities, ideally hyperscale or colocation data centres.
• Demonstrated leadership of complex, multi-disciplined engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of redundancy principles and resilience strategies.
• Experience operating in fast-track construction environments.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication towards colleagues and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering design teams.
• Safeguard technical integrity, resilience strategy and system redundancy concepts.
• Challenge and optimise design solutions for reliability and maintainability.
• Ensure compliance with international standards and client requirements.
• Provide clear technical direction across all design stages.
• Define deliverables with project milestones and manager alignment.
• Identify and manage technical risks during design development.
• Lead design reviews and cross-discipline integration.
• Act as primary technical interface for clients and workshops.
• Collaborate with BIM team to translate design intent into models.
• Oversee construction support and RFI resolution; safeguard intent.
• Mentor regional engineering talent and contribute to APAC growth.
