Job summary

Kuok Group Singapore seeks a Principal Engineer - Mechanical for its data centre projects in Jakarta. You will lead mechanical design, review, and construction oversight across the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with design intent, standards, and regulatory requirements.

You will coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders, overseeing HVAC, cooling, plumbing, and fire protection systems to deliver safe, efficient data centre facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 6+ years in mechanical/building services design and construction, preferably data centres.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, cooling, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Good understanding of data centre design, CFD studies, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Experience reviewing mechanical design, calculations, drawings, and specs.
• Familiar with ASHRAE, NFPA, TIA-942 and Indonesian requirements.
• Uptime Institute / TIA-942 certification or PE/CE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager with mechanical engineering support for design and construction phases.
• Monitor mechanical construction activities and provide technical oversight per standards and regulations.
• Review design consultant deliverables and ensure they are fully developed and documented.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and other disciplines.
• Maintain K2 mechanical standards for HVAC, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and commissioning documentation for compliance.
• Identify and mitigate mechanical risks, design gaps, and site constraints.
• Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities to ensure project success.
• Capture lessons learned to strengthen engineering standards.
