Job summary

Aurecon Indonesia invites a senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Built Environment team in Jakarta. You will lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services, focusing on HVAC or hydraulic systems, across high-rise and mission-critical facilities.

You will collaborate with architects, structural, civil and electrical teams, delivering large Data Centre projects and complex infrastructure. Strong English and Bahasa Indonesia communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years' relevant mechanical engineering consulting experience in the built environment sector.
• Strong mechanical design experience, with demonstrated delivery of complex building services projects.
• Proven experience in mechanical system design, including HVAC, hydraulic/plumbing and associated building services systems.
• Experience working within an engineering consultancy environment and delivering multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with architects, structural, civil and electrical engineering teams.
• Experience in Data Centres, telecommunications, mission-critical facilities or other complex infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
• Ability to apply critical thinking, technical expertise and creativity to solve complex engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, coordination and documentation of specialist mechanical building services, with a focus on either HVAC or Hydraulic (Plumbing) systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and practical engineering solutions for high-rise buildings and mission-critical facilities.
• Support the delivery of large-scale Data Centre projects across Indonesia, contributing to the design and implementation of critical mechanical systems.
• Provide technical expertise throughout project phases, from concept and detailed design through to construction support and commissioning.
• Responsible for the success of technical aspects of projects won or allocated.
• Applies established methods and technical judgement to deliver defined work and resolve technical issues
• Demonstrates sound technical capability by consistently applying critical thinking and creativity to deliver outcomes
• Implement and maintain quality assurance processes specific to mechanical engineering to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.
• Conduct site inspections to verify the installation of mechanical systems and ensure they meet design specifications.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including mechanical design calculations and reports, equipment specifications, progress updates, and final project deliverables.
