Job summary

TERA Data Centers in Indonesia is seeking aSenior Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager to lead full-cycle mechanical design, procurement, construction, and commissioning for data center projects across Southeast Asia. You will ensure systems meet Tier III/IV, energy efficiency, and maintainability targets while coordinating with civil, electrical, ELV, and fire protection disciplines.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical/HVAC for data centers, strong knowledge of redundancy, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Energy & Power, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years of mechanical/HVAC engineering experience, with at least 3 years in data center or mission-critical facilities (e.g., semiconductor fab, hospital, laboratory, large-scale computer room).
• Familiarity with data center mechanical architecture, redundancy (N+1, 2N), Tier III/IV standards, chilled water systems, free cooling, and liquid cooling/cold plate technologies is an advantage.
• Languages: Fluency in English is required as a working language. Proficiency in Chinese, Thai, Bahasa Malaysia, or Bahasa Indonesia is an added advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, MS Project, and Office; BIM experience is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as Registered Mechanical Engineer, PE, CEng, LEED AP, Uptime ATD/ATS, or PMP are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design Management and Technical Review of data center mechanical systems including chilled water systems, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC, precise a/c, humidification, pumps, piping, and redundancy.
• Construction Technical Management: review submittals, supervise site installation quality, and coordinate interfaces with other disciplines.
• Testing and Commissioning Support: participate in equipment tests, system integration, IST, and handover activities.
• Vendor and Contractor Management: evaluation, guidance, schedule coordination, and issue resolution to ensure timely rectifications.
• Compliance and Standards: ensure works meet ASHRAE, TIA-942, Uptime Tier, NFPA, and local codes across SEA markets.
• Cost and Schedule Support: provide mechanical input for procurement, scheduling, and cost control.
• HSE and Cross-Cultural Collaboration: adhere to HSE, coordinate with multinational teams and clients.
