Job summary

Sea Labs Indonesia seeks a QA Engineer to design and execute tests for payment and financial workflows, ensuring reliability across markets. You will develop automated tests for APIs and backend services, and collaborate with developers, PMs, UX designers and operations to safeguard availability and usability of core functions.

You will test critical scenarios such as payments, retries, reconciliations, and edge cases while advancing CI/CD quality gates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of QA/testing experience.
• Experience testing backend services, REST APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Basic to intermediate SQL for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on UI/Mobile Automation using Playwright, Cypress, or WebdriverIO.
• Strong Python/JavaScript/TypeScript programming/scripting.
• Understanding of QA principles, defect lifecycle, and Agile practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication and ability to work with international teams.
• Willingness to learn AI to enhance quality.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans for payment/financial products, APIs, integrations, and financial workflows.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and production validation testing.
• Test critical scenarios such as payment success/failure, retries, timeouts, duplicates, reversals, refunds, and reconciliation.
• Develop and maintain automated tests for APIs and backend services.
• Identify, investigate, and track defects; drive fixes with engineers.
• Participate in release quality assessment, incident investigation, and root-cause analysis.
• Improve test coverage, QA processes, automation frameworks, and CI/CD gates.
• Collaborate with local/regional teams to deliver reliable payment services across markets.
