Job summary

Monee in Jakarta is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to design, test, and safeguard the availability and usability of its payment platforms. You will collaborate with developers, product managers, UX designers, and operations engineers across regions to solve complex distributed system challenges at scale.

You will develop automated tests for APIs and backend services, perform end-to-end validation, and contribute to release quality assessments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in QA, software testing or quality assurance.
• Experience testing backend services, REST APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
• Experience with API testing tools (Postman/Swagger/REST Assured).
• UI and Mobile automation experience (Playwright/Cypress/WebdriverIO).
• Strong programming/scripting skills (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript).

As a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, you will work with some of the most talented minds in the world, collaborating with fellow Developers, Product Managers, User Experience Designers and Operation Engineers to design, test and safeguard availability, performance and usability of our business-critical functionalities that delight both internal business and external end-users.

Job Description

• Design and execute test plans for payment/financial products, APIs, integrations, and financial workflows.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and production validation testing.
• Test critical scenarios such as payment success and failure, retries, timeouts, duplicate requests, reversals, refunds, and reconciliation.
• Develop and maintain automated tests for APIs and backend services.
• Identify, investigate, and track defects; work with engineers to drive issues to resolution.
• Participate in release quality assessment, incident investigation, and root-cause analysis.
• Improve test coverage, QA processes, automation frameworks, and CI/CD quality gates.
• Collaborate with local/regional teams to deliver reliable payment services across multiple markets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience in QA, software testing, test engineering, or quality assurance.
• Experience testing backend services, REST APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Basic to intermediate SQL skills for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience in UI and Mobile Automation framework such as Playwright, Cypress, or WebdriverIO.
• Strong programming/scripting skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Understanding of software testing principles, defect lifecycle, and Agile development practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with international, cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to learn AI, use AI to facilitate and enhance quality .
