SP Manufacturing Pte Ltd. is seeking a Purchasing Executive to join our procurement team at our Batam facility. This full-time role focuses on optimizing the supply chain and ensuring timely procurement of materials and services for manufacturing operations.

You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and maintain inventory efficiency, working closely with operations, logistics, and warehousing to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience in procurement within manufacturing or logistics environments.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability and delivery performance.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders with accurate specs, quantities and delivery timelines.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure quality and service.
• Manage inventory levels and work with operations to forecast material requirements.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehousing for receipt and storage of goods.
• Resolve procurement issues including supplier disputes, delays and quality concerns.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation and databases.

About the role

SP Manufacturing is seeking a Purchasing Executive to join our procurement team on a full-time basis at our facility in Batam Kota, Riau Islands. This is a strategic position within our operations, where you will play a crucial role in optimizing our supply chain and ensuring the timely procurement of materials and services. The Purchasing Executive will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and maintaining inventory efficiency to support our manufacturing objectives and contribute to the overall success of SP Manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Identifying, evaluating and selecting suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability and delivery performance
• Preparing and issuing purchase orders, ensuring accurate specifications, quantities and delivery timelines
• Negotiating pricing, terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value for money
• Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining strong vendor relationships to ensure consistent quality and service
• Managing inventory levels and working closely with operations teams to forecast material requirements
• Coordinating with logistics and warehousing to ensure efficient receipt and storage of goods
• Resolving procurement issues, including supplier disputes, delivery delays and quality concerns
• Maintaining accurate purchasing records, documentation and databases
• Contributing to cost reduction initiatives and process improvements within the procurement function
• Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders to understand and meet their procurement needs

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Purchasing Executive or similar procurement role within a manufacturing or logistics environment
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management and inventory control principles
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to achieve competitive pricing and favourable contract terms
• Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively across departments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• Fluency in English
