Job summary

Volex is seeking an experienced engineer to help create the next generation of interconnect solutions for consumer electronics and domestic appliances. You will conceive, design, and bring into production products that redefine the connector industry, working from concept through to production.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in product development within a high-tech setting, proficiency with 3D CAD tools, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electronic engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in product development in engineering/high-tech environment.
• Experience in design and development for cables or connectors is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Product design from conception to finalization.
• Design discussions and project updates with the customer.
• Sample testing and troubleshooting.
• Project management.
• Lead the team to meet customer requirements within timeframes.

Job Role / Job Overview

You will help to create the next generation of interconnect solutions used by our customers in consumer electronics and domestic appliance applications. You will conceive, design, and bring into production products that will re-define the connector industry.

Key Accountabilities

Education & Certifications

• Knowledge in FMEA and Design of Experiment (DOE)
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or Electronic Engineering.

Job Specific Technical Requirements

• Must be able to use 3D design software such as UG, Solid works, Pro-E or AutoCAD

Industry experience

• Minimum of 5 years experience in product development in an engineering/electronics/high-tech environment. Experience of design and development for cable or connectors would be an advantage.

Job Specific Personal Requirements

• Ability in mechanical design of plastics components and contacts/terminals design for a high-speed stamping die.
• Good knowledge in the application of various engineering plastics and the processing skills of plastics injection moulding machines to achieve high cosmetic requirements.
• Strong trouble shooting skills and an analytical mind.
• Ability to lead the team members to accomplish the project to meet customer's requirements within time frame.
• Good team player

Languages

• Fluency in English is essential.
