Job summary

Siloam Hospitals Balikpapan is seeking a Pharmacist Assistant to support outpatient and inpatient pharmacy services, ensuring safe and effective medication use for patients. You will monitor quality, manage data reporting, and provide drug information to multiple departments.

The role requires a Bachelor of Pharmacy and at least 1 year of hospital or clinical experience, with strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy and drug safety regulations. This position is on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Pharmacy required.
• 1 year hospital or clinical pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive prescriptions, compound and prepare medicines for outpatient and inpatient units.
• Monitor and supervise quality of service in outpatient/inpatient pharmacy units.
• Handle complaints from patients and other departments to ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain monthly reports: stock, expiry, price, narcotic stock, data quality.
• Oversee drug storage, temperature control, and equipment maintenance.
• Educate staff about new drugs and provide drug information to departments.

• Supporting pharmaceutical services in terms of receiving prescriptions, compounding and preparing medicines as well as distributing medicines in outpatient and inpatient pharmacy services to ensure that patients' drug needs are met in accordance with the service and quality standards set by the hospital. Monitor and continuously check the service management of Pharmacist Assistants and Runners in the outpatient and inpatient pharmacy units to ensure that the standards and procedures set by the hospital are carried out correctly and consistently.
• Receive and handle complaints from patients, doctors, nurses, or other departments related to pharmacy outpatient unit services to ensure customer satisfaction with pharmacy outpatient unit services
• outpatient services in relation to the implementation of established policies, standards and procedures, including operational obstacles that may be encountered which can be followed up or escalated to interested parties
• Ensuring the completeness of data and monthly reports for the pharmaceutical outpatient unit: Static drug reports and drugs that are almost/already expired, Stock and price reports, Data quality objectives, Narcotic and psychotropic drug stock reports, Other required reports
• Monitor the procurement and use of medicines and general equipment, as well as the condition of cleanliness, procurement, use and maintenance of equipment in the pharmaceutical outpatient unit, so that they can be accountable to superiors
• Carrying out socialization and education to workers in the pharmacy outpatient unit regarding existing new drugs, as well as conducting drug information services for all parties who need it to ensure that all relevant departments receive correct and appropriate information according to their needs.
• Monitor the refrigerator temperature as well as room temperature and humidity to optimize drug storage and management
• Implement and supervise procedures and practices for quality and safety services, including attending training, collecting data, documenting and/or making reports needed to support the achievement of hospital wide indicators and related departmental targets
• Provide operational support to the Assistant Pharmacist of the pharmacy outpatient unit to ensure the continuity and smoothness of pharmacy OPD services
