We are looking for a Packaging Development Manager to lead our Packaging Development function and drive end-to-end packaging development for our skincare, cosmetics, & nutrition products.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end packaging development from concept, sampling, testing, revision, approval, through commercialization.
- Manage multiple packaging development projects, ensuring timelines, priorities, milestones, and deliverables are well controlled.
- Lead and develop the Packaging Development team through clear delegation, coaching, performance monitoring, and capability development.
- Provide direction to the team in coordinating with external suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, and packaging partners.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Product Development, Procurement, Quality, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, dependencies, and potential delays, and drive appropriate solutions.
- Oversee packaging development feasibility, including materials, components, prototypes, testing, technical specifications, and production readiness.
- Ensure packaging development meets quality, functionality, aesthetics, cost, and business requirements.
- Prepare and maintain project trackers, timelines, reports, and development data using Microsoft Excel.
- Present project progress, risks, challenges, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and management.
- Drive continuous improvement in packaging development processes & systems, project management, supplier collaboration, and team effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (S1) in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or other relevant disciplines.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Packaging Development, preferably in skincare, cosmetics, beauty, FMCG, or related industries.
- Previous experience in a Lead, Assistant Manager, or Managerial role, with experience managing direct reports.
- Strong project management and timeline management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of packaging development, materials, components, prototyping, testing, qualification, and commercialization.
- Experience working with external suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively present project updates, risks, challenges, and recommendations to stakeholders and management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for project tracking, timeline management, reporting, and data analysis.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.Structured, proactive, hands-on, and able to drive projects independently from development through commercialization.
- Willing to work from office (WFO) in BSD.
