Job summary

PT Surya Dermato Medica Labs in Central Jakarta is seeking a Medical Affairs Manager on a full-time basis. This strategic role bridges clinical expertise and commercial operations to ensure safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance of dermatology products.

You will manage medical information, support evidence generation, and build relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and internal teams to align medical strategies with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, medicine, life sciences, or related field.
• 3–5 years in medical affairs, clinical research, or healthcare in pharma/medical devices.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and Southeast Asia standards.
• Proven ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Experience building relationships with healthcare professionals and KOLs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement medical affairs strategies for product launches and lifecycle management.
• Provide medical and scientific information to healthcare professionals and customers with regulatory compliance.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and clinical experts to support business objectives.
• Coordinate and support clinical research projects and post-marketing surveillance activities.
• Prepare and review medical documentation including clinical dossiers and regulatory submissions.
• Monitor literature and competitive intelligence to identify trends and opportunities.
• Develop educational materials and training on indications, safety, and data.
• Ensure all medical activities comply with regulations and codes.
• Collaborate with marketing, regulatory, and commercial teams to align medical strategies with business goals.
• Respond to medical enquiries and adverse event reports promptly.

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Affairs Manager to join our team in Central Jakarta on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position that sits at the intersection of clinical expertise and commercial operations, playing a vital role in ensuring our pharmaceutical and medical device products meet the highest standards of safety, efficacy, and compliance. The Medical Affairs Manager will be responsible for managing medical information, supporting clinical evidence generation, and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals. This role is essential to maintaining our competitive advantage and ensuring that our products are positioned effectively within the market whilst adhering to all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement medical affairs strategies to support product launches, lifecycle management, and market expansion initiatives
• Provide medical and scientific information to healthcare professionals, medical representatives, and customers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and clinical experts to support business objectives
• Coordinate and support clinical research projects, investigator-sponsored studies, and post-marketing surveillance activities
• Prepare and review medical and scientific documentation, including clinical dossiers, clinical summaries, and regulatory submissions
• Monitor and analyse scientific literature and competitive intelligence to identify market trends and opportunities
• Develop educational materials and training programmes for internal teams and healthcare professionals regarding product indications, safety profiles, and clinical data
• Ensure all medical affairs activities comply with pharmaceutical regulations, industry codes of conduct, and company policies
• Collaborate with marketing, regulatory, and commercial teams to align medical strategies with business objectives
• Respond to medical enquiries and adverse event reports in a timely and professional manner

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, medicine, life sciences, or a related healthcare field; advanced qualifications are advantageous
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in medical affairs, clinical research, or a related healthcare role within the pharmaceutical or medical devices industry
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, guidelines, and industry standards, particularly within Southeast Asia
• Excellent scientific and medical knowledge with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences
• Proven experience in managing relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders
• Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Indonesian; proficiency in additional languages is a bonus
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all documentation and communications
• Experience with dermatological products or medical devices is highly desirable

Established since May, 5th 1982, in the city of Surabaya, in the province of East Java, in Indonesia, PT. Surya Dermato Medica Laboratories (PT. SDM) aim to supply a good dermatologicals, non-prescriptions and aesthetic dermatology products.

Cosmetics and skin care are growing ever closer. In 1986, PT. SDM experienced production expansion to non beta lactam antiobiotic production, then in 1992 underwent plant area expansion and renovation in compliance with cGMP regulation.

In 1995, PT. SDM finally obtained cGMP certification with area consisted of three floors of office building and three floors of manufacturing facilities, with area of 84 x 36 m2.

Plant renovation is continuously carried out in 2005 with the addition of one more building for office and manufacturing facility.
