MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

About the Role
PT Hormel Pronas Nusantara is seeking a hands-on and experienced Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to support the commissioning and operation of our food manufacturing facility in KITB Batang.
This position is responsible for supervising mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to ensure high equipment reliability, minimum production downtime, operational efficiency, and compliance with food safety and occupational safety standards.
The successful candidate will lead Mechanical and Electrical Technicians and establish disciplined preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, troubleshooting, spare-parts management, and continuous-improvement practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure maintenance schedules are completed according to the approved maintenance master plan.
- Lead troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, PLC, automation, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control-system issues.
- Respond quickly to equipment failures and minimize production downtime.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring failures.
- Monitor and improve equipment availability, OEE, MTTR, MTBF, and breakdown frequency.
- Supervise, coach, and develop Mechanical and Electrical Technicians.
- Coordinate equipment installation, testing, commissioning, modification, and reliability-improvement projects.
- Monitor critical spare parts, maintenance tools, inventory levels, and maintenance costs.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with Production, FSQ, HSE, Warehouse, Procurement, OEMs, vendors, and contractors.
- Support TPM, Kaizen, energy efficiency, cost reduction, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, Halal Assurance requirements, LOTO, work permits, PPE, and company safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance records, failure analyses, and performance reports through the CMMS or designated maintenance system.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Mechanical and/or Electrical Maintenance within food manufacturing, FMCG, beverage, pharmaceutical, or other process-manufacturing industries.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team‑lead position.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, RCA, TPM, OEE, MTTR, and MTBF.
- Good understanding of motors, drives, electrical panels, PLC, HMI, sensors, conveyors, pumps, compressors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and packaging equipment.
- Experience using CMMS or computerized maintenance systems is preferred.
- Experience in greenfield projects, factory start‑up, equipment installation, or commissioning is highly preferred.
- Experience in processed meat, chilled or frozen food, poultry, dairy, or other hygienic and temperature‑controlled manufacturing environments will be a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, LOTO, and food‑manufacturing safety requirements.
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, troubleshooting, planning, and communication skills.
- Able to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, electrical diagrams, and equipment documentation.
- English communication skills for technical documentation and coordination with international OEMs will be an advantage.
- Willing to work in shifts or respond to emergency maintenance requirements when necessary.
- Willing to be permanently placed at KITB Batang, Central Java.
